Also in Elvas, we explored the Stud Farm in Altar de Chao, founded by the King in the 18th Century to raise the famous Lusitano horses and Falcons. The horses were simply delightful and we noticed one enjoying the ''drive thru'' horse wash. We wanted to jump in with him, the temperatures were over 100 every day. They had to artifically cool the owls and falcons as well. The falcon handler just bubbled over with her love for her birds! On the way back, surprise, another castle on the hill and Storks.
