The Age Group Objectives are intended as a useful resource in developing a partnership of parents and congregational community.  When using these objectives as a guide, it is expected that all previous younger-aged objectives have been successfully met.

Parents’-To-Be Guidelines

1. Reflect upon their own Baptismal calling

*Research their own Baptismal date, and celebrate annually with a special devotion and candle-lighting

*Reflect up vows from Rite of Affirmation of Baptism

   *  Live among God’s faithful people

   *  To hear His word and share His supper

   *  To proclaim the Good News of God in Christ through word and deed

   *  To serve all people, following the example of our Lord Jesus

           *  To strive for justice and peace in all the earth

2. Establish patterns of daily devotions and prayer

*For example:  “Christ In Our Home” or “Word In Season” published by Augsburg Fortress

3. Establish plans for nurturing child’s faith

*Research available Christian prayers, songs, and books for infants
