“Christ in Your Marriage” by Paul E. Walters and James L. Armentrout.

This resource is for couples who are starting pre-marital counseling and continues into the first year of marriage.

A variety of topics are covered all tying into the Marriage Service in Evangelical Lutheran Worship. It begins by sharing stories of baptism; strengths for marriage; words of wisdom; how God will exist in your relationship; and ends with the serving God together.

During the first year of marriage there is a topic for each month beginning with faithful, peaceful living in God and concluding with baptism.  The first year works through the marriage service from baptism to dismissal and the second year is the opposite working from dismissal to baptism. It is a resource to begin the conversation for this new relationship together and God’s presence in it.

These can also offer conversation starters for couple at different stages of their marriage, to reflect on where they have been and where they are going.
